Samsung has started rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 in Malaysia. The latest updates for the watch comes with some new health features as well as improved communication and connectivity features listed below. Running Analysis2
The new software update for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 now comes with a stand-alone Running Analysis2 feature that provides a variety of detailed metrics, such as asymmetry, regularity, stiffness, vertical oscillation, ground contact time. These features will now help you improve your athletics performance and reduce injury.
VO2 max
The latest update for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 further adds VO2 max feature to help you measure the maximum amount of oxygen that you utilize during an intense exercise.
Fall Detection feature3
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 new software update also adds Fall Detection feature3 which can be used to send an SOS notification to up to four pre-designated contacts when a potential fall is detected.
Smart Reply
The new software update for your Galaxy Watch Active 2 now also lets you easily view emoticons and photos directly from your watch screen. Now, you no longer need to turn on your phone whenever you receive a notification. You can now also quickly reply to messages or images received on your watch with the help of the suggested response provided by Smart Reply feature.
Chat History
After updating to the latest software update on your Galaxy Watch Active 2 you will now also find chat history when receiving a new message. You can now also select to send both AR Emoji Stickers5 and Bitmoji Stickers6 straight from your watch.
Scroll Capture Feature
With the latest Galaxy Watch Active 2 software update, Samsung is said to provide more effortless and seamless music experience as well as control on your Galaxy Watch Active 2. The latest software update now also adds the Scroll Capture Feature support. Now, when you take a screenshot from your smartwatch, it will be automatically sent as an image to your smartphone.
Update Availability
The latest software update for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 will initially be available for the Bluetooth versions of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 Model number SM-R820NZKAXME and will roll out to LTE versions shortly thereafter.
Notably, the latest Galaxy Watch Active 2 software update is compatible and will work with any Galaxy Devices running with One UI 2.5 or above.
To activate the VO2 max feature on mobile after updating to the latest software update, Open the Galaxy Wearable app > select ‘SOS’ > Turn on ‘Detect falls’ and add the contact that you want to receive your SOS notifications.
