AMD has officially launched the Radeon RX 9000 Series graphics cards, bringing next-gen performance, AI-boosted upgrades, and premium ray tracing technology to gamers and creators. Stealing the spotlight are the new Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT, both based on the RDNA 4 architecture and engineered to provide lightning-fast gaming experiences with state-of-the-art visual quality.
RDNA 4: Power and Efficiency for the Future
The Radeon RX 9000 Series is designed to deliver performance and efficiency with third-generation ray tracing, second-generation AI accelerators, and AMD’s newest FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) for upscaling and frame generation at high quality.
“THIS IS THE UPGRADE THAT WILL KEEP YOUR SYSTEM FEELING FAST AND FRESH FOR YEARS TO COME,” AMD SAID, CAPPING OFF THE LONG-TERM OPTIMIZATIONS MADE POSSIBLE BY THE RDNA 4 ARCHITECTURE.
Breakthrough Gaming Performance
Whether delivering ultra-high refresh rates for competitive esports or diving fully into maxed-out open-world gaming, the RX 9000 Series delivers noteworthy performance boosts. AMD’s HYPR-RX technology combined with Fluid Motion Frames 2.1 provides better frame generation and reduced latency for a variety of AAA games.
RX 9070 XT (Native 4K Ultra) – 42% Faster than RX 7900 GRE
AMD reportedly tested the RX 9070 XT against the RX 7900 GRE across 30+ games at Ultra settings (both with and without Ray Tracing):
- F1 24 – 157 FPS
- God of War: Ragnarok – 109 FPS
- Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered – 99 FPS
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – 74 FPS
- Resident Evil 4 (RT) – 144 FPS
RX 9070 (Native 4K Ultra) – Supercharged 1440p Performance
- F1 24 – 134 FPS
- God of War: Ragnarok – 92 FPS
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – 68 FPS
- Resident Evil 4 (RT) – 124 FPS
- Ray Tracing and AI-Powered Upscaling
The RX 9000 Series brings more powerful ray-tracing accelerators for realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections. With FSR 4, gamers can look forward to a significant frame rate boost without compromising on image quality.
Streaming and Content Creation Ready
The new AMD Radiance Display Engine and Enhanced Media Engine enable high-quality video streaming and recording, with AV1 encode/decode support for higher image quality at lower bitrates. AMD Noise Suppression using AI minimizes background noise for better voice communication.
