Bungie has announced two new major expansions, the Edge of Fate and Renegades, for Destiny 2. The Edge of Fate will officially launch on July 15, bringing new content, game modes, and significant updates to the sci-fi universe. Additionally, Bungie has teased a Star Wars-inspired expansion titled Renegades that will launch on December 2, along with several other intriguing developments aimed at keeping the Destiny 2 universe fresh and engaging.
Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate – Launching July 15
The Edge of Fate expansion arrives on July 15, bringing Guardians face-to-face with the Nine, mysterious beings older than the Traveler itself. This expansion kicks off a multi-year saga with a brand-new destination, Kepler, full of exploration, puzzles, and dark secrets.
Two key characters will take the spotlight:
- Lodi, a new ally from a far-off place.
- Ikora Rey, the legendary Warlock Vanguard.
Kepler introduces unique gameplay mechanics, like the Matterspark ability, which lets players interact with dark matter to:
- Transform into new forms for exploration and combat.
- Use the Relocator Cannon to teleport across areas.
- Harness Mattermorph to reshape the environment.
The expansion also includes new enemies, weapons, gear, and abilities.
Pre-Order Bonuses
Players can choose from various pre-order editions, each packed with rewards like exclusive Ghosts, emblems, and the new Exotic sniper rifle, New Land Beyond. Special editions also include access to both The Edge of Fate and December’s expansion, Renegades.
Destiny 2: Renegades – Coming December 2
Bungie also announced the Star Wars-inspired Renegades expansion, set to launch on December 2, 2025. This expansion brings new characters, activities, and mechanics, blending Destiny’s storytelling with Star Wars themes.
Destiny VP Justin Truman said, “Renegades is a Destiny story at heart, but with a Star Wars-inspired take that’s been a dream to explore.”
