As 1C Entertainment and 3D Realms admitted, the retro shooter Wrath: Aeon of Ruin will no longer release in spring 2021 as planned. Instead, the project needs a little more time and will therefore be pushed back a little.

For a while now, 1C Entertainment, 3D Realms and KillPixel Games have been working on the retro shooter Wrath: Aeon of Ruin.

Originally, it was supposed to leave the early access phase in February 2021 and officially appear for consoles and PCs. As officially admitted, nothing will come of this project. Instead, Wrath: Aeon of Ruin needs a little more time and will therefore be delayed to summer 2021.

As can be seen from the official statement, not only the COVID-19-related move to the home office caused delays. At the same time, members of the development team fell ill with Corona, which threw the internal schedule upside down.

According to the developer, the retro shooter is based on genre classics such as Doom, Witches or Quake. “Equipped with weapons of exceptional might and an inventory of powerful artefacts, you must traverse ancient crypts, sunken ruins, corrupted temples and howling forests to bring death to your enemies. But do not underestimate your adversaries, for they are great in power and number. Your mind must be as sharp as your blade if you hope to survive the dangers ahead,” the developers commented about the game.

Wrath: Aeon of Ruin is in development for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
