Reburn, the self-publishing studio previously known as 4A Games Ukraine, has revealed La Quimera, a story-driven sci-fi first-person shooter in a dystopian future Latin America. Based on the 4A Engine, the game will release on PC through Steam, but no release date has been set.
Reburn CEO and founder Dmytro Lymar defines La Quimera as a natural progression of the studio’s experience in developing immersive shooters.
“Reburn is thrilled to introduce La Quimera, one that leverages our success building narrative-driven first-person shooter games for the Metro series,” stated Lymar in a news release. “We can’t wait to see players experience this new world of mystery and share the excitement of donning the uniform to join battle with them.”
A World of Mercenaries and Megacities
Situated in the year 2064, La Quimera takes place in an era in which nation-states exist only in name, after a series of calamities in the 2030s and 2040s. Microstates in this broken world depend on private military companies (PMCs) for security, entering the “golden age” of mercenaries.
Players take on the role of an operative with a Private Military Company, making their way through conflict-ravaged Latin America dominated by large, sprawling megacities and massive jungles.
Equipped with next-gen arsenal and personalizeable exoskeletons, they will complete danger-laden operations against rival entities and deadly robot enemies.
Key Features
- Deep, Immersive Story: Story-rich FPS experience with in-depth world-building that can be experienced solo or co-op in an online play option with three human players.
- Futuristic Combat: Use exoskeletons with adjustable powers, weapons, and tactical enhancements.
- Diverse Enemy Factions: Fight against a range of enemies, from lightly equipped bandits and stealthy snipers to heavily armored elite warriors.
- Adaptive AI Opponents: Fight against robotic foes that can fly, climb walls, and attack from ceilings—each with special tactics to be defeated.

With La Quimera, Reburn hopes to provide an intense and immersive sci-fi shooter experience while continuing the narrative-driven quality of the Metro series. Further information on the game, including a release schedule, will be announced in the coming months.
