Nintendo has announced free updates for 12 first-party Nintendo Switch 1 games, optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2, launching June 5, 2025. These updates, available on launch day via internet connection, boost visuals, performance, and add features like GameShare for select titles, as detailed in Nintendo’s official transfer guide.
The updated games include:
- ARMS: Higher resolution, smoother frame rate for multiplayer, and HDR support.
- Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker: Enhanced resolution and HDR for sharper visuals.
- Game Builder Garage: Upgraded resolution and mouse control support with Joy-Con 2.
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe: Improved resolution for crisper graphics.
- Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: Better resolution and frame rate for smoother gameplay.
- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury: Resolution and frame rate boosts, with HDR for Bowser’s Fury only. Adds two-player co-op with Mario and Bowser Jr.
- Super Mario Odyssey: Resolution upgrade, HDR, and GameShare for local/online play.
- The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom: Resolution boost and HDR support.
- The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening: Enhanced resolution and HDR for vibrant visuals.
- Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain: Resolution and frame rate improvements, HDR, and GameShare.
- Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics: Resolution boost and GameShare for cross-platform play.
- Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 01: Variety Kit: Resolution upgrade and mouse control support.
