Acer has introduced a new device called the Acer 4K UHD Google TV Box, also known as AiTV. This streaming box lets you watch your favorite shows and movies in high-quality 4K resolution. It’s designed to compete with popular devices like the Xiaomi TV Box and Google Chromecast.
What makes this box special is that it has many connection options. It includes six ports: one HDMI port to connect to your TV, one USB-A port and two USB-C ports for accessories, an Ethernet port for a wired internet connection, and an optical audio port for improved sound with devices like soundbars. It also has a microSD card slot to add more storage for apps and media.
The box uses a powerful Amlogic S905X5 processor with four cores and a Mali-G310 GPU for smooth streaming. It supports Wi-Fi 6 for fast wireless internet and comes with a standard Google TV remote that has buttons for Netflix, YouTube, YouTube Music, and Amazon Prime Video. The remote also has a microphone for voice control.
Right now, you can only pre-order this device in South Africa for about $80. There’s no news yet on when it will be available in other countries like the US or Europe.
