In Hollow Knight: Silksong, one of the first side tasks you’ll get is the Berry Picking quest from the Moss Druid in the Mosshome area of Bone Bottom. The Moss Druid asks you to collect three Mossberries in Moss Grotto to complete the quest and earn a reward called the Druid’s Eye crest, which helps with crafting. How to Start the Berry Picking Quest
To begin, find the Moss Druid in a cave in the top-right part of Bone Bottom, near a bench. You’ll need the Silkspear skill to enter the cave, which you can find at the top of the large room just outside. After getting the skill, go right, break the silk barrier, and talk to the Moss Druid. Choose “Yes” to the “Promise Wish?” prompt to start the quest.
Mossberry Locations in Moss Grotto
Mossberry #1
- Where to find it: This Mossberry is in the south-west part of Moss Grotto, early in the game.
- How to get it: From the starting area, drop down the hole to the left of Bone Bottom village to enter Moss Grotto. Use the floating platforms to climb up to the right corner of the room. The Mossberry is hanging on a plant. Hit it with your attack to collect it.
Mossberry #2
- Where to find it: This Mossberry is higher up in Moss Grotto, in the right part of the map.
- How to get it: From the Moss Grotto bench, go right and climb up the largest room. You’ll see the Mossberry hanging on a plant above you, but it’s too high to reach by jumping. Find a flying bug nearby with a glowing green orb in its mouth. Use a downward attack to bounce off the bug, launching yourself up to hit the Mossberry and collect it.
Mossberry #3
- Where to find it: This Mossberry is in a hidden area near the Moss Druid’s cave.
- How to get it: From the Moss Druid’s cave, exit and jump down to the ground. Go right and push through a wall of vines to find a hidden zone. Inside, you’ll see a flying bug with a shining green glow in its mouth. Defeat the bug by hitting it a few times, and it will drop the Mossberry for you to pick up.
Tips for Success
- Get a map: Buy a map of Moss Grotto and a compass from a shop to track your location. This makes finding the Mossberries easier.
- Watch for enemies: Moss Grotto has tough bugs, so be ready to fight or dodge while searching.
- Check your skills: Make sure you have the Silkspear skill before trying to reach the Moss Druid. You’ll need it to enter the cave and start the quest.
Reward
Once you have all three Mossberries, return to the Moss Druid in the cave and give them the berries. You’ll receive the Druid’s Eye crest, an amulet that helps with crafting Silk in the game.
