iReader Unveils Neo 3 Pro

iReader, a leading maker of digital reading devices in China, has launched the Neo 3 Pro, a slim e-reader that brings a fresh twist to its popular Neo series. This new model features a special nano-etched glass layer over its electronic ink screen, designed to cut down on glare from lights or sunlight, making it easier to read outdoors or in bright rooms. At just 144 grams and 6.4mm thick, it’s a lightweight companion for book lovers on the go.

The Neo 3 Pro centers around a 6-inch black-and-white electronic ink display using the latest Carta 1300 technology from E Ink. This screen delivers crisp text at a resolution of 1072 x 1448 pixels, packing 300 tiny dots per inch for pages that look almost like printed books.

Unlike the standard Neo 3, which has a sunken screen protected by a plastic edge, the Pro version covers the entire front with a thin glass sheet treated at the nano level to scatter light evenly.

This reduces reflections without adding weight or bulk, and it pairs with iReader’s i-Clean 2.0 system to wipe away faint images from previous pages, keeping text fresh and clear.

Under the hood, the device runs on a four-core processor with 2GB of memory and 64GB of built-in storage—enough for thousands of books, comics, or documents without needing extra cards.

It includes a ComfortLight Pro+ backlight with 30 adjustable levels for brightness and warmth, so you can read comfortably in the dark or mimic natural daylight. A 1,800mAh battery powers up to 50 hours of continuous reading on a single charge, and it connects via Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless headphones to listen to audiobooks.

There’s also dual-band Wi-Fi for downloading titles and a USB-C port for quick recharges or file transfers.

For added convenience, the back has pogo pins that link to optional protective cases with physical buttons for turning pages, turning the e-reader into a more tactile device.

It weighs in at 144 grams and measures 148.8 x 109.2 x 6.4 mm, making it pocket-friendly. The Neo 3 Pro runs iReader’s custom software, supporting formats like EPUB, PDF, and MOBI for a smooth library experience.

Priced at around 1,199 RMB (about $165), the Neo 3 Pro is available now in China through iReader’s online store and major retailers like JD.com. It’s positioned as an upgrade for fans of the Neo 3, which launched earlier this year with a similar screen but without the glass protection.

Early users on Weibo praise the anti-glare feature, with one reviewer noting, “No more squinting in the sun—it’s like reading on real paper anywhere.” The device joins iReader’s lineup of affordable e-readers, competing with global options like Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite.

While not yet announced for international markets, iReader’s focus on eye-friendly tech could appeal to readers worldwide. This launch highlights the company’s push into better screens, following the Neo 2’s success last year. If you’re in China, grab one soon—the Pro’s glare-free design might just be the perfect reading upgrade for fall.
