AOC, a top maker of gaming monitors, has unveiled its latest model, the Agon U27G4XM. This 27-inch screen uses Mini LED technology with 1152 separate bright zones to create deep dark areas and super bright highlights, making games look more real and exciting.
It supports high-definition colour formats and is set to hit stores worldwide in January 2026, starting at around $550 – a fair price for such advanced features.
The U27G4XM is built for gamers who want clear, fast visuals without breaking the bank. Its 27-inch flat panel shows images at 4K resolution, which means four times sharper than standard HD, perfect for spotting tiny details in big worlds.
It refreshes the picture 160 times per second for smooth motion in fast action, and it has a quick 1-millisecond response time to cut down on blurry trails during quick turns. For competitive play, it can switch to full HD at 320 refreshes per second, giving an edge in speed-focused matches.
What stands out is the Mini LED backlight. These tiny lights divide the screen into 1152 zones that turn on or off separately, boosting brightness to 1,200 nits in small spots – like bright explosions or sunlight – while keeping black areas truly dark.
This setup earns it a top rating for high dynamic range (HDR) content, showing more lifelike colours and contrast. The screen covers 98% of a wide colour space used in movies and games, so reds, greens, and blues pop vividly. It’s an IPS panel, which means colours stay true from any viewing angle, great for sharing with friends.
Connectivity options are also good. It includes two HDMI 2.1 ports for linking to new game consoles at full speed, a DisplayPort 1.4 for PCs, and a USB 3.2 hub with four ports to charge devices or connect extras like keyboards. There’s a headphone jack, but no built-in speakers or single-cable power-and-video option.
You can use the stand to tilt, raise, lower, swivel, and pivot the screen for comfortable viewing during long sessions. AOC has also added tools like low-delay modes, on-screen aiming marks, and software to tweak settings easily. It also has features to reduce eye strain from blue light and flickering.
This monitor fills a gap for gamers wanting premium brightness without high costs. Earlier Mini LED screens often topped $800, but the U27G4XM aims lower, competing with models like MSI’s similar ones while offering better value. It’s part of AOC’s Agon gaming line, known for blending fun and performance.
The monitor is priced at £399.99 in the UK (about $528) and €519 in Europe (about $601). It will be available for sale in January 2026, with a three-year warranty. US pricing is still unknown, but it is expected to be around $500-$550. You can check AOC’s site for the latest updates – if you’re upgrading your setup for clearer, brighter gaming, this could be a smart pick.
