At this year’s CES in January, ASUS launched its latest-gen flagship Zenfone series smartphone, the Zenfone 2. The device holds the title of being the world’s first phone to boast 4GB of RAM. Ever since the CES unveiling, the Taiwan-based electronics major has introduced several variants of the Zenfone 2 in its home market. The company recently started teasing the launch of the phone in India, and has scheduled an event in New Delhi on April 23rd to release the device in the country.

Among the several variants of the Zenfone 2, the brand has announced to release three models here, two of which are expected to be the Zenfone 2 ZE550ML and Zenfone 2 ZE551ML. Design & Display 
Design-wise, the ASUS Zenfone 2 ZE550ML and ZE551ML, both look premium devices with a plastic back that emulates brushed steel. Since they are phablet territory devices, they are a bit thick with a 10.9mm waist, but are pretty light-weight at 170grams. Both offer 5.5-inch displays with layers of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. However, the Zenfone ZE551ML offers better colour reproduction with a full HD resolution screen, the Zenfone ZE550ML on the other has HD resolution display.

Processor and RAM
The Zenfone 2 ZE550ML is powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor, further supported by a PowerVR G6430 graphics processing unit and a whopping 4GB of RAM. The Zenfone 2 ZE551ML on the other hand utilises a more powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 CPU, aided by a PowerVR G6430 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

Storage
The Zenfone 2 ZE550ML comes with 16GB of flash memory, while the Zenfone ZE551ML is being offered in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB internal memory models. Both the variants have a microSD card slot to expand the memory further.

Software and Camera
The Zenfone 2 ZE550ML and ZE551ML, both run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with the overlay of ASUS ZenUI that brings a handful of additional software features. Both the Zenfone 2 models are equipped with 13MP PixelMaster primary cameras with autofocus and LED flash, and 5MP wide-angle PixelMaster secondary shooters.

Connectivity and Battery 
In terms of connectivity, the Zenfone 2 ZE550ML and ZE551ML, both support India’s 4G LTE networks, and come with dual-SIM support, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, micro-USB, and A-GPS. Both are powered by a healthy non-removable 3,000mAh battery, and support BoostMaster fast charging via an optional adapter.

They offer different processors, amount of RAM, internal memory, and display resolutions.
