With The Ancient Gods Part 2, the dark shooter Doom Eternal recently got the last announced DLC. As the developers at id Software made clear, the end of the game has not yet been reached. Instead, the studio is planning more content.

Last week, Bethesda Softworks and the developers of id Software released The Ancient Gods Part 2, the next DLC for Doom Eternal.

Even if we are dealing with the last DLC for the dark shooter announced at the time in The Ancient Gods Part 2, the makers of id Software have by far not finished the Doom Eternal chapter according to their own statements. Instead, the studio pointed out in the person of executive producer Marty Stratton and game director Hugo Martin that further updates to Doom Eternal are planned.

It has not yet been revealed whether the whole thing also includes completely new content or corresponding DLCs. However, id Software gave more details about the future of Doom Eternal a while ago and announced, among other things, the DLCs available for Switch for the other platforms as well as support for the new generation Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles.

Neither Martin nor Stratton provided additional details on what kinds of updates we can expect to see this year. We’re likely to see more of them in the coming months, and we’re excited to think that this little nod to “updates” will bring more content than the classic patches.

If there are specific details about the next updates of Doom Eternal, we will of course let you know.
