WUCHANG: Fallen

The latest update for WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, version 1.5, is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. This patch brings small changes to make the game smoother, fixes some problems, and prepares for more content. Here’s a simple look at what’s new, based on the official notes from the developers.

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers Patch 1.5 Notes

New Features and Fixes

  • Made a small change to the short safe time when your character stands up after being knocked down. This stops enemies from hitting you too soon and helps new players enjoy the early parts of the game more.
  • Sped up the healing animation a bit so you have more time to heal. You can now stop the after-drink animation by dodging, adding more choice to your moves.
  • Updated animations, numbers, and level layouts for some characters and computer-controlled enemies. Added talks for certain characters to finish some story parts. The team plans to improve tired animations later for better storytelling. This also fixes a group problem in Chapter 4, changes the level setup, and boosts the show effects for big fights. Plus, it fixes the talk order between Fang Yao and He Youzai so you can get the “Bound by Fate’s Threads” and “Dream’s Sweet Deceit” endings without issues.
  • Updated descriptions for some gear and items.
  • Added or changed some sound lines. Included more voice for the main character to complete the story, and added talks for other characters.
  • Fixed a problem where some buttons couldn’t be changed in the controller settings menu.
  • Solved an issue where the Buddha statue might vanish from your items if you quit the game suddenly after placing it in Palace Hill of Chapter 1.
  • Corrected a glitch where combo-based blessings and jade pendants didn’t work right in new game plus rounds.
  • Fixed spots in the world where you could get stuck.
  • Shortened wait times for elevators and fixed a trap in Chapter 5 where the elevator might lock you in at the end. While waiting, the elevator now comes three times faster. For now, the ride speed stays the same due to loading needs.
  • Made some monsters easier to knock off balance. Lowered the toughness of early enemies so light weapons can stop their attacks more easily, while keeping quick light hits more thoughtful. For later enemies, you can now use spells or weapon moves to start light attack chains and control them better.
  • Made spike traps go off less often.
  • Lowered the damage from landmines in Chapters 2 and 3 even more. You can still make monsters unsteady fast, so fights with groups stay quick.
  • Cut down the number of landmines in Chapter 3.
  • Changed game content to get ready for new weapons and outfits in the special edition reward. The detailed design phase for these rewards is almost done, and the team hopes to add more old-style armor, like from the Wei/Jin times.
  • Improved the game code to prepare for letting you choose to start again at a shrine or boss fight door after dying.
  • Updated item looks to get ready for a brighter glow when picking up red mercury essence.
  • Other small fixes.

Crash Fixes

  • Fixed a crash from the graphics card caused by see-through parts in rare cases.
  • Solved a crash from unneeded drawing calls in certain spots.
  • Corrected a crash from graphics hangs under specific setups.
  • Fixed a crash that might happen sometimes at the end of loading a map due to animation timing overlaps.
  • Other small fixes.

The developers say this update took a while, but they’ll keep improving the game based on what players say. They aim to make something everyone loves. If you’re playing WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, download the patch now and enjoy the changes!
