Palworld, the open-world survival crafting game from Pocketpair, is getting a massive update called Tides of Terraria this summer. This update brings a crossover with the popular indie game Terraria, blending their unique worlds for an exciting new adventure.
The Tides of Terraria update is a collaboration between Palworld and Terraria, two hit indie games known for crafting, exploration, and monster-collecting (or fighting). The update will let players catch, train, and fight Terraria-inspired creatures, similar to Palworld’s Pals, while exploring new content.
A teaser from the official Palworld X account included the creepy Terraria line, “You feel an evil presence watching you…” and showed a glowing demonic eye, hinting at Terraria’s Eye of Cthulhu boss making an appearance. Expect a mix of Terraria’s pixelated style and iconic elements with Palworld’s vibrant 3D world.
What’s Included?
While exact details are still under wraps, the update will feature:
- New Pals: Creatures inspired by Terraria’s monsters, possibly including catchable versions of bosses like the Eye of Cthulhu.
- New Islands: Fresh areas to explore, expanding Palworld’s open world.
- New Content: More weapons, mechanics, or missions tied to the crossover.
- Terraria Vibes: Expect Terraria’s 2D aesthetic, biomes, or tools to influence Palworld’s gameplay.
Pocketpair already introduced the Meowmere, a Terraria endgame sword, in the December 2024 Feybreak update, as a “taste” of the collab. This bullet-firing melee weapon with a cat-meowing sound sets the tone for more Terraria goodies coming in summer 2025.
The Tides of Terraria update is set to launch in summer 2025, though no specific date has been confirmed. Pocketpair will share more details on their official social media channels (like X and Discord) in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for updates.
Palworld is available now in Early Access for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. It is also available via Game Pass.
