Capcom has revealed that Monster Hunter Wilds will see its first free Title Update 1 on April 4, 2025, introducing a surge of new content to the action RPG, which has been universally praised. Unveiled at a showcase presented by producer Ryozo Tsujimoto on March 25, this update brings a range of new features, challenges, and fan-favorite additions to the Forbidden Lands, keeping hunters busy with plenty to plunge their blades into just more than a month after the game’s February 28 release.
The key highlights of the update include the return of Mizutsune, the lovely Bubble Fox Wyvern that did not appear last time around in Monster Hunter Rise. From a Hunter Rank 21, users can unlock to hunt this beast by talking with Kanya inside the Scarlet Forest.
Famous for its beautiful dance-like movements as well as stun-inducing bubbles, Mizutsune will surely challenge hunters using its slippery fighting style. Stock up your armor—or get stuck in the froth.
The other key feature is the Grand Hub, a new socializing hub opening at HR 16 following a conversation with Tetsuzan in Suja. This hub provides an area to greet other hunters, eat meals, and play mini-games such as arm-wrestling and Barrel Bowling, which can provide hunting goods.
The Squad Information Counter moves here from the Windward Plains, making squad management easier. On some evenings, the haunting melodies of Diva fill the air, placing a dash of atmosphere on this much-awaited public area.
Tougher opposition for high-ranking hunters comes from Title Update 1. The Arch-tempered Rey Dau, level above Tempered monsters, is brought through an Event Quest on April 29 for hunters 50 HR or above. With its defeat come the mighty Rey Dau Gamma armor set both for hunters and Palicoes.
In the meantime, Zoh Shia—a one-time story boss previously—becomes repeatable at HR 50, and can be found in the Ruins of Wyveria in the state of Wyvern’s Wakening. New high-rank weapons and armor made from its components will add to your collection.
The update also starts seasonal celebrations with the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance from April 22 to May 6. This cherry blossom-festival event reworks the look of the Grand Hub, brings new meals, and provides one-time gear, gestures, and camp decorations.
Other Event Quests, Arena and Challenge Quests, start along with Free Challenge Quests—open hunts for up to four players. Speedrunners can vie for leaderboard fame and special pendants.
Cosmetic flair is on the way too. Free DLC brings classic Monster Hunter gestures and a new handler outfit for Alma, which can be customized through the camp’s Appearance Menu following certain side quests.
Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, due on April 4 for Premium Deluxe Edition or Cosmetic DLC Pass owners (or for separate purchase), brings layered armor, camp equipment, and more. Further paid DLC will also release outside the pack.
In the future, Capcom teased another Title Update this summer 2025, revealing the return of Lagiacrus with a peak at its golden neck. Capcom collaboration and Endemic Life display feature will come in a late-May update, with further announcements to follow.
On PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam, Monster Hunter Wilds is not done yet and will offer hunters a solid post-launch experience.
