After there have been increasing rumors of a new game of the Life is Strange series recently, Square Enix has now officially announced it. Life is Strange: True Colors will be released later this year.
As part of today’s Square Enix Presents livestream, the Japanese company officially announced Life is Strange: True Colors, the latest in the critically acclaimed series of games. This time, players slip into the role of Alex Chen and explore the city of Haven Springs with her. Alex suppressed her curse for a long time because she has the ability to experience, absorb and also manipulate the emotions of her fellow human beings, which she perceives as colorful auras. When her brother dies in an alleged accident, Alex has to accept her unpredictable strength in order to uncover the truth and dark secrets hidden in the small town. The players should have Alex’s future in their hands.
As in the previous parts of the Life is Strange series, music also plays an important role in True Colors. While exploring Haven Springs, players can look forward to an exclusive soundtrack that includes new songs from mxmtoon, Novo Amor, and other licensed tracks. These include songs by Radiohead, Phoebe Bridgers, and Gabrielle Aplin, among others.
Life is Strange: True Colors is being developed by Deck Nine Games, who were already responsible for the prequel Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Incidentally, with Steph, a character from this game will return in the latest game of the series. Jeff Litchford, vice president of the development studio, is excited about the chance to develop the next chapter in the series.
Life is Strange: True Colors will be released on September 10, 2021, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and for Google Stadia.
