Amazon Games has revealed details for Season 10: Nighthaven, the latest update for New World: Aeternum. This free expansion brings a mysterious new land, a gripping story quest, exciting game modes, and big changes to how players progress and gear up. The Nighthaven update launches on Monday, October 13, 2025, for all owners of New World: Aeternum. It promises to reshape adventures in the world of Aeternum with hidden realms, tough challenges, and smarter ways to build your character.
Explore the New Zone: Nighthaven
Nighthaven is an ancient, hidden land full of history, cut off from the rest of Aeternum for generations under the rule of a powerful king. This shadowy place features haunting woods, mighty castles, and dark ruins where mysterious tall and slender figures live.
These inhabitants can be friendly and charming or fierce and scary, depending on how they see outsiders. They manage parts of the land for their king, blending court politics with dangers in hidden hallways.
Stories also speak of monstrous creatures that mix human and animal traits, stalking the dark forests and hills. Lately, these beasts have grown bolder, posing a bigger threat.
Nighthaven is a place where darkness rules over light, and real power hides in deep catacombs and old ruins. Brave players can uncover secrets in these shadows to fight dangers not just to Nighthaven, but to all of Aeternum.
New Story: The Tear of Gaea
The story picks up after the Elysian Wilds events. Morgaine took the Tear of Gaea, a divine artifact, to hide it safely from those with bad intentions. But bad luck struck, and now the Tear is missing. She turns to the Soulwarden for help to find it and protect the world from evil plans.
Players will travel to Nighthaven, meet its enigmatic people, and search through timeless ruins and fancy buildings to reveal the truth. Trust is rare here, so be careful as you uncover what’s happening in this isolated land.
New Game Mode: Catacombs
Catacombs is a fresh mode for up to three players to dive into ever-changing underground dungeons. You’ll fight various enemies and bosses, grab special power-ups just for this mode, collect cursed items and money, and race to escape and clean your treasures before time ends.
The challenge starts moderate but grows much harder (and more rewarding) after each boss defeat. To keep up, players pick up power-ups that boost stats and skills. After a boss, decide to go deeper for bigger rewards or exit safely. If you fail to escape, you lose most treasures, but just one player needs to make it out to save everything.
New Raid: Isle of Night
Isle of Night is a challenging 10-player endgame raid set in a once-great kingdom now overrun by lost souls. Like the Hive of Gorgons raid, it has three new bosses, fresh enemy types, simple puzzles, and big battle scenes.
This is some of the toughest content in Season 10, so players must gear up and work as a team to win.
Overhauled Endgame Progression
Nighthaven overhauls how players advance in the late game, with changes to systems, gearing, rewards, and more. The aim is to connect different activities, letting players mix gear in new ways for unique and strong setups.
- Level Cap to 70, Gear Score Max to 800: The max level rises to 70, and gear score goes up from 725 to 800. Player-vs-player modes, which scale gear to 700 now, will scale to 775.
- New Gear Modding System – “Perk Charms”: Gear can have up to four slots for “charms,” special modifiers in defensive, offensive, or skill types. Charms can be ready-made or crafted from rare drops in endgame areas.
- Set Bonuses: For the first time, ultra-rare gear sets from raids, Catacombs, and player-vs-player tracks give bonuses. Mix pieces for your style—some bonuses start at two pieces and improve at four (2/4), others at three and five (3/5). There are seven ways to combine them for different effects.
- Umbrals: A new version of Umbral Shards upgrades gear score 700 and above. It’s now a currency with a 1,000 limit in your wallet and weekly earn caps to keep its value steady, unlike before.
- Infix Perks: Unique gear keeps powerful rare perks like on artifacts.
- Attribute Changes: No more perks that boost basic stats like strength. Those points are now added to what you get from leveling. Gear storage now saves your attribute setups too. Old attribute perks on gear are replaced with weaker ones.
- Perk Design: A full review of perks makes choices more thoughtful. Gone are “must-have” ones that just boost damage or speed without downsides—now perks have real trade-offs.
New Player-vs-Player Map: The Tower
“The Tower” is a new 20-vs-20 map, a gothic fortress on a mountain peak blending old magic and smart building. Fight across three vertical levels, from high castle tops to deep corrupted areas.
Jump pads and paths keep battles moving, with three points to capture. Hidden underground tunnels have mines and arenas for strategy and resources. Victory goes to those who control heights and depths.
Season 10: Nighthaven offers a free, thrilling update that deepens the world of New World: Aeternum with mystery, combat, and smarter progression. Mark your calendars for October 13, 2025, and get ready to explore Nighthaven!
