A new leak about the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Pro Max has surfaced, highlighting a major improvement in its camera compared to the standard Xiaomi 17 Pro. Shared by reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the details suggest the Pro Max will stand out with a larger main camera sensor, promising better photo quality in low light and more detail in everyday shots.

The Xiaomi 17 series is expected to launch in October 2025, with the Pro Max being the top model in the lineup. According to the leak, the Pro Max will feature a 1-inch main camera sensor, a significant upgrade from the smaller sensor in the Xiaomi 17 Pro.

This larger sensor captures more light, resulting in sharper images, especially at night or in dim environments. It will pair with a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens for zooming, creating a versatile setup for photographers.

The Pro model, while powerful, sticks with a smaller sensor to keep costs down and the phone slimmer. The Pro Max’s bigger camera might make the device slightly thicker, but it offers professional-level performance for users who prioritize photography.

Both models will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor for fast operation, but the Pro Max could include up to 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage.

Other rumored features for the Pro Max include a 6.78-inch OLED screen with high brightness, a 5,500mAh battery with 120W fast charging, and an improved ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The leak also hints at a premium titanium frame and new color options like silver and blue.

Xiaomi has not confirmed these details yet, but the company is known for pushing camera technology in its flagships. The 17 Pro Max could compete with phones like the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra by focusing on superior low-light photography.

Fans are eager for the official reveal, as this camera upgrade could make the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max a top choice for mobile photographers. More leaks are expected in the coming weeks leading up to the launch.
