Xiaomi Pad 8 Teased with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Processor Ahead of Late September Launch

Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil a wave of new devices in China before September ends, with the spotlight on the Xiaomi 17 phone series and the Pad 8 tablet lineup. The company recently confirmed that the Pad 8 Pro will feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and now fresh details have emerged about the standard Pad 8 model, building excitement for its imminent debut.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 has popped up on Geekbench ahead of its launch, carrying the model number “25097RP43C.” It runs on a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip and scored 1,984 in single-task tests and 6,323 in multi-task tests.

These numbers are a bit lower than some other devices with the same chip, like the Poco F7 and Nothing Phone (3), but that’s normal for early performance checks. The listing also reveals it comes with 12GB of memory, ensuring smooth handling of apps and games.

Xiaomi has shared more about the Pad 8’s design. It boasts an 11.2-inch screen with 3.2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate for clear, smooth visuals, perfect for watching videos or scrolling.

The tablet has a 9,200mAh battery with 45W charging to keep it running all day with quick top-ups. At just 5.75mm thick and weighing 485 grams, it’s as light and slim as the pricier Pad 8 Pro.

Other rumored features include a 13-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera for video calls, quad speakers for rich sound, quad microphones, and a USB-C port for easy connections—though these are still awaiting official confirmation.

This launch event will highlight the Xiaomi 17 series as the main attraction, with the Pad 8 lineup adding versatile tablet options. The company opened pre-reservations in China this week, with global sales expected to follow in October or November.
