Samsung has finally revealed its long-rumoured Galaxy Z TriFold, the company’s first phone with a three-panel folding screen that turns into a full 10-inch tablet. This multi-fold device promises big productivity in a super-thin body, and it’s set to go on sale in South Korea on December 12 and will be available in other markets such as China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the US in early 2026.
The Galaxy Z TriFold stands out with its dual-hinge design, letting you fold it into different shapes: a compact phone, a book-style two-panel, or a wide tablet. When fully open, the inner screen measures 10 inches diagonally – about 25% larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 – perfect for multitasking like watching videos while typing emails. It’s incredibly slim at just 3.9mm thick in the middle when unfolded, making it feel more like a regular phone than a bulky gadget.
Inside, it runs on a customised Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for fast performance, with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage to handle heavy apps and games without slowing down. The battery is a 5,600mAh setup spread across the panels for even power use, giving all-day life even when folded out. It charges quickly at 65W wired and supports wireless options too.
Cameras get a boost with a 200MP main rear lens for sharp photos, plus a 12MP ultra-wide and 10MP telephoto for zoom. Up front, two 10MP selfie cameras cover the inner and outer screens. It has IP48 water and dust protection, a side fingerprint scanner, and runs Android 16 with Samsung’s One UI software. A new feature called standalone Samsung DeX turns it into a desktop setup when connected to a monitor.
The TriFold comes in a single “Crafted Black” color, focusing on a premium, matte look. Samsung says the inward-folding hinges protect the screens better, and they’ve added a one-time 50% discount on display repairs for the first six months.
Priced at 3.59 million South Korean won (about $2,450 or Rs 2.06 lakh), it’s a high-end buy aimed at power users. Early buyers get a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, which includes video tools and 2TB cloud storage.
This launch comes as Samsung faces tougher competition from Chinese brands like Huawei in foldables, and it’s a step ahead of Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone expected in 2026. Hands-on demos start at select stores in launch countries. If you’re into cutting-edge phones, keep an eye on Samsung’s site for US pricing and pre-orders – the future of foldables just got a lot more flexible!
