The Huawei Mate 70 series is expected to launch in mid-to-late November 2024. This delay from earlier predictions of a September release seems to be linked to the integration of Huawei’s new HarmonyOS NEXT operating system, which is seen as a key feature of the new devices.
HarmonyOS NEXT is designed to move away from Android and could represent a major shift in the mobile OS landscape.
The Mate 70 is expected to include a Kirin 9100 chipset for enhanced performance and better AI capabilities. Other expected features include a 10x optical zoom camera with advanced XMAGE imaging technology, a 3D face recognition system, and a 6000mAh battery.
The device might also feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a quad-curved OLED display. The price is expected to start around $840, similar to its predecessor.
