A new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remaster might be in the works at Activision/Xbox, according to professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones. During an appearance on The Breakfast Club podcast, Jones casually mentioned that he’s part of an upcoming Tony Hawk game, stating, “I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out, that’s cool. They got a new one they remastering so that’s about to come out, I was in the last one.”

Jones previously appeared in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 despite not being part of the original lineup. The 2020 remake blended classic skaters with newer talent, which suggests that a potential new remaster could follow a similar approach.

This isn’t the first time a new Tony Hawk project has been teased. For the series’ 25th anniversary last year, Tony Hawk himself hinted on Instagram that the franchise still had a “future.” Additionally, in a previous interview, Hawk revealed that he had been in talks with Activision, stating, “I wish I could tell you more, but I can tell you that I’ve been talking to Activision again, we’re working on something.”

The last entry in the series was 2020’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, a successful remake of the first two games. Hawk later claimed that a follow-up remaster was planned but was shelved after Vicarious Visions, the developer behind THPS 1+2, was merged into Blizzard.

If Jones’ comments are accurate, a new remaster could be closer than expected. However, no official confirmation has been made by Activision or Xbox at this time. Fans of the legendary skating franchise will have to wait for further details.
