Rainbow Six Siege X

The rumors were true—Ubisoft has officially announced Rainbow Six Siege X during the Six Invitational eSports tournament. This enhanced version of the beloved tactical shooter is set to introduce graphical and audio upgrades, deeper tactical gameplay, and new ways to play.

A full-fledged Rainbow Six Siege X showcase is set for March 13 at 10 AM PT / 7 PM CET, streaming live on the Rainbow Six Siege Twitch channel. Fans will also have the chance to attend the event in person in Atlanta, Georgia.

For now, details remain scarce, but Ubisoft has promised a significant evolution of the game. If previous leaks hold true, Rainbow Six Siege X could be launching alongside Year 10’s second season.

Year 10, Season 1: Operation Prep Phase

Meanwhile, the live service of Rainbow Six Siege continues with the launch of Year 10, Season 1—Operation Prep Phase. This season introduces a brand-new Attacker Operator, Rauora, hailing from New Zealand.

Rauora’s Loadout & Abilities

  • Primary Weapons: 417 designated sniper rifle / M249 light machine gun
  • Secondary Weapons: GSH-18 9mm pistol / Reaper MK2 submachine gun
  • Gadget: Deployable Omnilink Mesh (D.O.M.) Launcher
  • Utility: Smoke grenades or breach charges

Deployable Omnilink Mesh (D.O.M.) Launcher – A Tactical Gamechanger

Rauora’s D.O.M. Launcher deploys a bulletproof smart cover system that works exclusively in doorways. Once fired, it attaches to a doorframe and extends a protective panel to the floor, blocking line of sight and movement.

  • Smart Drone Passage – The panel detects drones and temporarily lifts to allow passage.
  • Trigger Access – Attackers and Defenders can interact with the panel to open or close it, but Attackers get faster access and temporary lockout advantages.
  • Not Blastproof – The panel is resistant to bullets but can be countered by explosives, Oryx, Tubarão’s Zoto Canister, and Jäger’s ADS.

What’s Next?

  • Operation Prep Phase launches next month after an early access test next week.
  • Rainbow Six Siege X details will be revealed in the March 13 showcase.
  • Potential release alongside Year 10 Season 2 (based on leaks).
