Resident Evil: Requiem is gearing up for its first post-launch content drop, and the developers have a clear message for players: finish the main story now, because the action is about to ramp up.

During a recent interview, director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa shared fresh details about the game’s upcoming DLC. The highlight is a mini-game mode set to launch in May, designed for players who’ve already completed the campaign.

Finish the Story Before the DLC Drops

The upcoming mode won’t be accessible right away—it unlocks only after completing the main storyline once. With Golden Week (April 28 to May 6) approaching, the team sees this as the perfect window for players to wrap up the campaign. Kumazawa emphasized that timing, suggesting players use the holiday break to prepare for the new content. The idea is simple: finish the story now, dive into the chaos later.

“Sharpen Your Tomahawks”

The mini-game is heavily focused on combat, taking full advantage of Requiem’s battle systems. While details remain limited, the experience is expected to feel similar to the fan-favorite Mercenaries mode from Resident Evil 4 Remake—fast-paced, replayable, and action-heavy.

Nakanishi teased the mode with a memorable line, encouraging players to “sharpen your tomahawks” and get ready for intense combat scenarios once the DLC goes live.

More Content on the Way

Beyond the mini-game, a larger story-based DLC is already in development. While specifics are being kept under wraps, early hints suggest it could involve Chris Redfield, potentially expanding the narrative before or after the main events.
For now, the mini-game is in its final development stages, while the story expansion is still deep in production.

What It Means for Players

If you’ve been holding off on finishing Requiem, now’s the time. The upcoming DLC isn’t just an add-on—it’s a reward for those who’ve completed the journey and want more high-intensity gameplay.

And if the Mercenaries-style inspiration holds true, expect something built for replayability, skill mastery, and pure chaos.
