Strauss Zelnick has finally weighed in on two big questions fans keep asking: how much Grand Theft Auto VI will cost and whether we’ll ever see a return to L.A. Noire.

GTA 6 pricing: premium, but not extreme?

Speaking at the iicon conference, Zelnick avoided confirming a price for Grand Theft Auto VI, but his comments suggest the game may not hit the ultra-high price tags some rumors have floated.

He emphasized a value-first philosophy:

“Consumers pay for the value that you bring… our job is to charge way less than the value delivered.”

Zelnick also pointed out that game prices have remained relatively stable for over a decade—typically $60 to $70—despite rising development costs and inflation. Instead of pushing extreme pricing, the focus is on making sure players feel they’re getting something truly worth the money.

“Make the greatest entertainment ever”

Zelnick didn’t shy away from the pressure surrounding GTA 6. In fact, he admitted he’s “terrified” of how to measure its success.

Rather than obsessing over sales numbers, he says the goal is simple—but massive:

  • Deliver “the most spectacular piece of entertainment” ever made
  • Focus on player satisfaction first
  • Let commercial success follow naturally

He even joked that when the game launches, “a lot of people will be calling in sick on November 19.”

What about L.A. Noire 2?

Fans of L.A. Noire haven’t been forgotten—but there’s no confirmation yet.

Zelnick hinted that Take-Two is always evaluating its legacy franchises:

  • The company is open to revisiting older IPs
  • Any decision depends on whether a passionate development team is ready to take it on
  • If it happens, it would come from Rockstar Games directly

In short: not confirmed, but not off the table either.

The bigger picture

Between cautious pricing signals and ambitious creative goals, Take-Two Interactive is positioning Grand Theft Auto VI as more than just a game—it’s aiming to be a landmark entertainment release.

And while a return to L.A. Noire remains uncertain, Zelnick’s comments suggest the door is still open—if the right idea and team come along.
